Beyond the Bubble
with Ashlyn Archer

Update!

Tune in 2-3pm Thursday to hear DePauw senior Alfredo Paolo Naval talk about his personal transformation while at DePauw, the difference between "niceness" and "kindness," and his advice for graduating seniors and underclassmen. The show will also feature music by The Civil Wars, The Fray, and Matt Nathanson!

Coming soon to the site - audio from previous shows featuring Professor Robert Steele, Marilyn Culler and Sandy Smith, DePauw Chef Fred Mildner, DePauw seniors Eric Hubbard and Michael Rardon, and essays from seniors Molly McGonigal and Gabriel Lopez.

From the Host:

"Beyond the Bubble" is an hour of radio dedicated to the life philosophies, inspiring stories and words of wisdom of Greencastle residents, DePauw faculty, students and staff. This semester-long endeavor aims to inspire listeners in pursuit of a life of meaning and fulfillment, encourage others to share their unique stories and life experiences and think deeply about what is important to them and what their passions are.

The inspiration for this program originated with NPR's popular "This I Believe" series, a project that encouraged individuals to write a brief essay explaining their personal beliefs through stories of meaningful life experiences. My variation of the project encourages, but does not require essay-writing. Instead, I will be interviewing interested parties on air to discuss their beliefs and philiosophies. Additionally, these individuals will be asked to provide a few of their favorite songs that have impacted their lives and a piece of advice for individuals (college seniors, for example) on the brink of a new adventure or phase of life.
