All motions passed at the faculty meeting Monday where professors met to discuss the state of the University. Faculty voted on conferring degrees. The DePauw Board of Trustees now has permission to confer degrees to students eligible to graduate this semester. The Manager of Academic Operations Andrew Hayes brought these academic motions to the faculty. A new 400-level Italian course motion was passed. Next, changes to the economics minor passed. Three economics courses were added to the list of economics classes. A motion to change the Philosophy Bridge major was also passed. Students who seek to be a Philosophy Bridge major now must submit a writing on the junction between philosophy and another discipline.
In February, the faculty will vote on the Withdrawal Deadline Policy. Currently, students have until the end of the seventh week to drop a class. If this motion passes, students will have until the end of the eighth week.
