D3TV to Celebrate Re-birth on April 20th
D3TV will be celebrating its re-birth this Wednesday at Bowman Park. Until the party happens, all D3TV programming and offices will be blacked out. The party will celebrate both D3TV’s 20th birthday and the rebranding of the station.
General Manager of D3TV Ashley Nelson said rebranding will include a new station logo and overall look. She said in addition to changes in station appearance D3TV will also introduce a new line of programming. Nelson said the quality of stations programming has declined over the past couple of years. She said the ultimate goal of the so-called rebirth is to improve the quality of D3TV’s programming. Nelson said improvement can only happen with more student involvement. She hopes new shows like The Bachelor will generate more student interest than traditional programming. Nelson said the board of directors decided earlier this year to rebrand the station. She said the board felt the old logo was dated and the brand was weak.
The Wednesday celebration will start at 6pm and will feature inflatable games, food, and a 21-foot screen where the Bachelor will premier at 8pm.
