DPU Health Care Change
Final decisions have been approved regarding the 2012-2013 health care plan for DePauw faculty and staff. Anthem will be the new administrator for the plan. Switching to Anthem from Cigna will provide better discount rates, and a wider, more extensive network of providers. This change will keep the increase in costs under 10% versus a possible 16%. The plan design will remain the same. The Deductible for the OAP plan will be $1000 per individual and $3000 per family. Dental plans will be moved to Delta Dental while vision will stay with CIGNA.
Spousal Waivers will be postponed for this year. Spousal limitations are for spouses who are currently working and have medical coverage available through their employers where 50% of the monthly premium is paid by the employer.
The new healthcare plan goes into effect on July 1st of this year. Open enrollment meetings will be held between April 25th and May 4th and will continue through May 15th. More details on this switch will be provided in the coming weeks.
